URBAN WORD PRESENTS
Well Latweeno.com has been on the move this week to find the best events to attend this weekend. Monday Morning people always have the same old thing to say about the weekend...I went to the movies, I chilled with my friends. Why not change it up a little bit and put some real excitment in your life. This weekend Urban Word presents a second open mic for youth just like you ...SO Express youreself, come here people kick rhymes or just have a good time. On Sunday, Nov. 12th, UrbanWord's REELS AND RHYMES will have it's 2nd open-mic segment!
REELS AND RHYMES:
"This 8-week workshop is a mix of amazing films and powerful open-mics. We will alternate weekly, 1st week film screening, 2nd week open-mic, etc."
The film we screened last Sunday, was JAILS, HOSPITALS and HIP HOP, followed by a special appearance by Danny Hoch, a Brooklyn actor, performance artist and hip-hop activist, who spoke about his career path as a writer/performance artist and his involvement with the growth and evolution of hip hop.
This Sunday, we will have the open-mic related to topics of jails, hospitals, hip-hop and anything else on the minds of our poets and our community.
